Our annual St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser at the Old Grist Mill Tavern was a great success in many ways, thanks to the many people who helped us. We owe a debt of gratitude to Greg Esmay the owner of the Old Grist Mill Tavern and his wonderful staff. They were all so gracious and worked so hard to make sure those who attended the event had an enjoyable and delicious meal.
From noontime on there was a steady crowd of people who came to enjoy a delicious corn beef and cabbage dinner, while showing their support for work of the Little Sisters. Each year we send out a flyer about the St Patrick’s Day Dinner. People purchase thickets and then call the restaurant for a seating reservation. There is even a chance to enter the “Pot of Gold” drawing, 1st prize is $1,000.
We also bring fresh scones, baked and bagged by our staff, Residents and Sisters, to sell at the event. The scones were a big hit and had sold out before the end of the night. The people could purchase the scones in the lobby or from the Sisters who went around to the tables.
We are so grateful to all the people who came out the Old Grist Mill Tavern to support our Home, may God bless them for their generosity towards us.
