Mardi Gras 2015

  • February 17, 2015

Today we celebrated Mardi Gras in a big way at our home.  We had the usual Southern Fried Chicken for dinner.  At 2:30 many of the residents, dressed in masks and costumes, met up in the coffee shop for the start of our “Annual Mardi Gras Parade”.  There were bead necklaces, coins and pins passed out along the way to the many bystanders who came to watch the festivities.  The parade ended in the auditorium.  Once everyone gathered we played a “who’s that” game with pictures of our younger selves.  Many tried to guess who was who.  Mother won with the most correct guesses.  After some fun music and dancing everyone enjoyed an ice cream social.  We had more participants this year than any past year.  What a fun time we all had.
