One Loving Family
On Saturday, September 15, our Jeanne Jugan Family – Residents and their families alike, gathered for the Little Sisters of the Poor Annual Family Picnic. It was a beautiful, late summer day to enjoy the outdoors and share a delicious summertime BBQ expertly prepared by the hard-working kitchen staff who always goes above and beyond. BBQ classics included hamburgers, hotdogs, potato and macaroni salads, baked beans, and of course, corn on the cob and sliced watermelon. Many families brought home-baked goodies for the dessert table which turned out to be one of the most popular spots to enjoy!
Guests were entertained by Earth Harmony, a folk and bluegrass band including Resident’s son Ted Mello on upright bass. The Great Baldini put on a magic show for young and old in the auditorium. It always brings joy to the Home when children visit. Seeing their faces light up with wonder and laughter is contagious with our Residents. And many families posed for a family picture in front of the 150th Anniversary banner!
Seeing the Residents and their families, the Sisters and staff, volunteers, and AJJ members together for such a special day is a true reminder that we are one big loving family.
