On “Respect Life” Sunday we were privileged to participate in our Diocese of Providence’s “Prayer Life Chain” as a witness to LIFE. At 2:30 PM and in the beautiful, warm sunshine, our Residents, Sisters, Staff members, AJJ members, and Volunteers made our way in front of our fence on Main St. where we lined the sidewalk for the entire block and spent the next hour together sporting “Respect Life” banners, praying the rosary, and singing hymns. We were joined by students from “PC for Life” and “PC Elder Outreach” groups from Providence College. A few of our junior volunteers made banners saying, “Honk 4 Life” and “Honk to Stop Abortion”. As a result many passing vehicles including four city buses honked in support of life and gave us a thumbs up in support. At 3:30 PM all came inside and filled our coffee shop to capacity for fellowship over hot cocoa and donuts. The students from Providence College also were able to meet with one of our Residents, Dr. Ben Healey, who is a retired obstetrician who has brought over 3,000 babies into the world! We pray that our “Right to Life” witness on Main St. in little Pawtucket sent a message to all who passed by and perhaps gave a good thought to those cars who didn’t honk!
