Sunday Rosary in the Grotto
Visitors, volunteers and AJJ members have not been permitted to enter the Jeanne Jugan Residence since the outbreak of the Coronavirus in mid-March. Because of this, our willingness to serve Jesus in the elderly has been put on hold. However, nothing can stop us from spiritually assisting the Sisters and staff in prayer, especially reaching out to our Heavenly Mother through the Rosary.
Each Sunday afternoon 3 p.m. you can find any number of us in Our Lady’s Grotto on the grounds of the Home. Masked and practicing social distancing, we pray the Rosary. But instead of praying the traditional mysteries of the rosary, we pray five specific prayers relating to the current pandemic: for the Suffering and Dying, for the Workers, for Gratitude, for Understanding, and for Courage.
As St. Paul reminds us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Phil 4:6-7
