Happy Birthday, Jeanne Jugan!
Our Mother Foundress is forever giving us reason to celebrate. Of course, we celebrate each day, blessed to serve our Jeanne Jugan Family in dedication to the mission she conferred to us. But there are a few days throughout each year that give all of us – Residents, Staff, and Volunteers, a particular reason to reflect, to pray, to rejoice.
On October 25 we celebrated the anniversary of the birth of Jeanne Jugan. This year our celebration was in the form of an international feast and all were treated to a delightful and delectable dinner made by staff and Sisters alike. Spanish Empanadas, Portuguese Soup, Indian Biryani, and a bit of local American fare, including Rhode Island Stuffies, were on the menu.
So many members of our Resident Family, many escorted by dedicated volunteers, feasted their eyes on what seemed to be an endless buffet. With gratitude to everyone who shared their culinary skills, signature dishes, and their heritage, all for the delight of our Jeanne Jugan Family.
A special thank you to the kitchen staff who worked tirelessly yet joyfully preparing for this wonderful celebration!
