AJJ Promise

  • May 1, 2015

By Ellen Beauvais

In the presence of our residents, staff and the Little Sisters, Association Jeanne Jugan members renewed their annual promise at today’s Mass, on this the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. Like their Foundress before them, the Little Sisters of the Poor entrust St. Joseph to the protection of their work.  We were honored to have Auxiliary Bishop, The Most Rev. Robert C. Evans celebrate Mass in our home’s chapel on this special day.

As newest members of the AJJ and after a one-year program of formation, Janice Letendre, Cindy Piril and I made our promise for the first time “to serve Christ in the elderly with joy and love, by following the example of humility and confidence left to us by Jeanne Jugan”.

Such a privilege it is to now be one of our AJJ! As we share the apostolic riches of this beautiful congregation; who by their joyful and selfless service to our residents, spread the spirit and charism of St. Jeanne Jugan to all of us.

“Blessed be God!”
