Still So Many Reasons to Celebrate
As we journey together through this year, we are experiencing a time that is making history. In May two of our dear Residents made history of their own: Diva turned 100 years young and Deolinda 101!
These big milestones in our Home would usually be marked by large celebrations with everyone gathered together. However, under our current circumstances we had to find a different way to still celebrate and honor these incredible ladies.
While there were many differences from celebrations pre-social distancing, much remained the same. There were still decorations, flowers and cake. Above all, they were still surrounded by the love and attention of so many. These well wishes may have come from behind a mask, from signs held in the garden, or over the phone, but however they came there were smiles on our Residents’ faces all day.
Congratulations to Diva and Deolinda! In the midst of this unique time we still have “one hundred plus” reasons to celebrate. As St. Jeanne Jugan would say, “Blessed be God, thank you my God, glory be to God.”
