A pilgrimage was made last week to LaSalette Shrine in Attleboro, MA by our Home’s Residents, AJJ, volunteers, a few staff and some of our Little Sisters.
Residents could be found sitting on shaded benches listening to spiritual music that was piped through the grounds on speakers or browsing the beautiful gift shop at the Shrine.
The highlight of the day was attending Mass in the chapel. Our own resident, the Most Rev. Bishop Francis X Roque was on the altar to concelebrate the holy sacrifice of the Mass.
Everyone entered the chapel through the Holy Door of Mercy, thus obtaining indulgences promised in this Jubilee Year by Pope Francis signifying unity with the Universal Church.
Boxed lunches were provided by our Jeanne Jugan Residence’s kitchen staff and a stop for ice cream on our way home was a special summertime treat.
