Christmas 2019

Christmas Blessings

Blessings to you, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. What a joyful time of year for our Jeanne Jugan Family and a busy time at that!

Just before Thanksgiving, we welcomed hundreds of holiday shoppers to our annual Christmas Bazaar and we were overwhelmed by the generous response to our annual turkey drive. Our freezers are full because of the generosity of countless visitors to our Home.

During the days leading up to Christmas, the entire Residence was filled with red, green, and gold but it was the gift of music – from a five-piece band to elementary and high school students – that filled our hearts with song.

News 10’s Alison Bologna and Mario Hilario also surprised us with a visit to sing carols with our Jeanne Jugan Family. Click here to read the story, NBC 10’s Alison and Mario spread holiday cheer in Pawtucket.

Generous cooks and caterers prepared delightful Christmas meals for our employees and Residents, and the Sisters could be found in the kitchen day and night like Santa’s elves baking Christmas cookies for friends and families. Our kitchen staff always at the ready for every event, every celebration.

Generous donations of poinsettia adorned our Chapel providing a beautiful backdrop for the Crèche at the foot of the Altar. It was our privilege to welcome Bishop Thomas J. Tobin who celebrated Mass in our Chapel and we enjoyed a special visit by a CCD class who learned to pray the Rosary with our Residents.

Thank you one and all! The beauty, wonder, and joy of Christmas filled our hearts and our Home. Wishing you peace, health and happiness in the New Year.
