A planned “Grand Opening” of the Resident’s Country Store took place on April 6, 2015. The Association Jeanne Jugan purchased the necessary furnishings, along with some of the apartment residents. Aline Machala, Marcella Hart and Elaine Mello spent a couple of weeks decorating, organizing and preparing for the opening day, a big event here at the Home.
The residents answered a questionnaire about what they wanted the store to carry. We reviewed the questionnaires and purchased items they asked for. Now our residents can pick up necessities here instead of having to take a trip out to the store.
Msgr. Varsanyi blessed our “re-created” Country Store and we had the ribbon cutting ceremony. Everyone was impressed with how beautiful the store looks.
There will be set hours and residents will manage the store.
Thank you everyone for all your hard work getting the store up and running!
