Fourth of July

  • July 4, 2015

On July 4, Residents, family members, volunteers, staff   and Little Sisters gathered outdoors for the traditional flag raising ceremony before the celebration of Mass. Our Residents veterans proudly stood together while Oscar LaPlante raised the flag. Resident veterans including Joe Finegan, Ray Chartier, Leo Dulude, Oscar LaPlante, Rene Beatty, John O’Brien and Mary Brown. The singing of patriotic songs including God Blesses America and the National Anthem added to the ceremony. While we live in the “land of the free” and “home of the brave” we remember all those who have sacrifices to preserve the freedom we enjoy in the United States.  We are also aware of our awesome responsibility live to preserve that same freedom for future generations.  We thank God for the many blessings bestowed on all living in the United States of America.
