In light of the worldwide coronavirus outbreak, on March 9, 2020 Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo declared a State of Emergency. In addition, the RI Department of Health has issued strict regulations regarding access to residential skilled nursing facilities.
The health and safety concerns of our Residents is our priority. Therefore, as directed, and out of an abundance of caution, access to Jeanne Jugan Residence is limited to medical personnel and employees only. Regrettably, restricted access to our Home affects family members, volunteers, and vendors. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Per e-correspondence on March 9, the Little Sisters of the Poor 12th annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner at The Old Grist Mill Tavern scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020 has been canceled. We deeply regret having to make this decision. However, the health and safety concerns of the approximately 900 guests, Grist Mill staff, and volunteers is our priority. We will miss seeing our friends and benefactors who have supported the event year after year and the opportunity to welcome new friends and see new faces.
We would like to acknowledge the generosity of Greg Esmay of The Old Grist Mill Tavern, who year after year provides the beautiful venue, the delicious meal, the expert staff, and for countless volunteers and vendors who have been an integral part of the success of this annual tradition.
Please continue to pray, remain vigilant, stay healthy, and thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and patience.
